Partnering with Berkley’s Parks & Recreation Department, I facilitated a SWOT analysis and consulted with the team on their goals for the Berkley Buzz which was to ultimately build their direct mailing outreach and to increase their programming numbers. The assessment resulted in expanding the publication into a city-wide magazine. We also made the document available for online distribution as well.
This enabled the Parks & Recreation Department to have more visibility for their programs and higher turnout for their community events. Since the first issue (December 2021), they have seen their program and event engagement increase by 10-20% each quarter (e.g. senior trip events now see 3-6 new participant sign-ups for each new event).
Furthermore, this allowed me to include some of my communications goals of increasing exposure with other departments within the publication.
After some wireframe design review, I was able to create and produced the Berkley Buzz city-wide magazine for print and online distribution reaching 15,000 residents.
