As the City of Berkley’s lead Public Information Officer (PIO), I am responsible for deploying emergency and non-emergency communications. My role was to create various community outreach pieces, videos, eBlast updates for staff and the public, monitor media resources and agency updates from the CDC, the World Health Organization (WHO), the MI Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), and the Oakland County Health Department for the latest info and guidance regarding the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In addition, I worked with City leaders and Department heads to cultivate and create the City’s COVID-19 Recovery and Reopening Plan document, as well as, develop a COVID-19 resources hub on the City’s website: www.berkleymich.org/COVID19
