In June 2020, the nation witnessed and experienced the public loss of George Floyd and many other African Americans.
I worked with the Berkley Public Safety Department to address and acknowledge the issues surrounding police brutality with the community, what they are doing from a policy and procedural perspective to address these issues, as well as, organizationally as they continue to improve their officers through de-escalation, diversity, decision making, interacting with people with special needs, and implicit bias training, and more.
